Athenian Brewery enters the premium segment with the launch of Heineken, Europe's No 1 beer

Acquisition of third plant in Patras

Enters the beer specialities segment with the launch of Amstel Bock

Starts the production of the alcohol free beer Buckler and enters the imported beer segment with Coors Extra Gold from USA

Amstel line extensions, Amstel Light and Amstel Gold are launched in the market

Athenian Brewery enters the bottled water business producing the natural mineral water Ioli

Athenian Brewery is certified with the ISO 9002 Quality Certificate

Expansion of portfolio by the number of imported brands of various types and origins: Duvel from Belgium, Erdinger Weissbeer from Germany, McFarland from Ireland and Kirin from Japan, Murphy's Irish Stout and Murphy's Irish Red, Chimay from Belgium, Carib from the Caribbean, Konig Pilsener, and Desperados from France

Athenian Brewery launches in the Greek market Fischer the Alsatian beer, for the first time produced outside Alsatia

A new revolutionary packaging for Ioli is launched, named Ioli Sport, with a unique push-pull cap which makes the use very convenient for the customer

The company is certified with the ISO 14001 Environmental Certificate

2000
In March Athenian Brewery re-launches Alfa Beer, the traditional Hellenic lager beer.

2001
Athenian Brewery, through the Heineken brand, becomes a Grand Sponsor of the Olympic Games to be held in Athens in 2004.
